MISSION

MISSION

MISSION

MISSION

MISSION

To provide safe shower opportunities to unhoused neighbors across Metro Atlanta + beyond

WE TAKE SHOWERS TO THE PEOPLE

THE TRAILER

This suite is their private temporary sanctuary to take care of themselves

DESIGNED FOR A PURPOSE + BUILT TO SERVE

SAFE PERSONAL SPACE

Ordered in Winter 2023, Lang Trailers delivered our custom shower trailer in April 2023. Constructed to our exact design specifications, the trailer features four private suites. Each individual guest walks into a suite with a separate 34” x 36” shower pan, shower curtain, body wash dispenser, commode, sink basin, mirror, deadbolt-lock, occupied indicator, clothing hooks + floor drains. Spacious enough for personal belongings and changing, each compartment also includes an exhaust fan + air conditioning. We provide a shower seat upon request.

MECHANICAL ROOM

The mechanical room houses a jet pump, two 200-gallon freshwater tanks + a tankless water heater (fueled by a 100-pound propane tank externally mounted). The trailer is outfitted with two city water connections, a 240-volt or 50-amp outlet, powered by an externally mounted generator, + a 750-gallon waste bladder tucked in the trailer undercarriage.

RESPONDING TO THE NEED

Lang Trailer warrants all of its trailers are engineered and built to endure rigorous conditions, including fire camps, disaster zones + long-term use.  Our hard-wearing + beloved trailer has traveled the highways + byways of Metro Atlanta + middle Georgia, served massive turnouts, private events, endured unexpected adventures, lessons, + mishaps, + is going strong. See you at the next shower event!

Dignity is fundamental to all human rights.

Human rights

Access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is a human right, recognized by the United Nations. It is not a privilege. WASH is critical to sustaining life, health + dignity.

At the heart of Mobile Showers Atlanta is our intentional objective to connect. We show love and respect. We support through trials and celebrate triumphs. We speak possibility and opportunity. We bring resources. The core belief that every person has talents and skills meant to be gifted to the world, is a foundational guiding principle. Another is, one person can make a difference in the life of another. Help us help them.

Homelessness is not a choice. It is not a reflection of a person's character or worth. It is a problem that requires our compassion and action.

Jenny Durkan

No Access

Imagine, no access to water or ability to address one's personal hygiene. Thousands go days, weeks and longer without access to showers, baths, or laundry.  Where do we begin? You want to help but you are at a loss for how you can help? Join us! Every contribution makes a difference.

Discomfort

Does your heart break seeing men, women + children living on the street? Have you stepped around a tent, by a sleeping bag? Averted your eyes from the man with the sign? Many of us have. It is uncomfortable. Now, imagine the discomfort of sleeping on cold concrete, trying to stay dry and warm.

We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.

- Mother Teresa

Why?

I devote my time , energy, and resources to homeless relief, mobile hygiene and affordable housing - because I've lived the heartbreak of losing a loved one while they were unhoused. I've witnessed other family members struggle on the edge.

To my core, I know this: homelessness is not a moral failing.

It is a profound life disruptor.

No one grows up dreaming of living in their car.

Or searching for a safe restroom to address basic hygiene needs.

Daily, thousands of men, women and children fight for survival on our streets. Read that again.

Thousands.

I do not have solutions to our challenges with access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), or affordable housing. But I knew I could do something. Mobile Showers Atlanta is one response to the immediate needs of so many. Every week we bring showers to our neighbors that  make a real difference in their lives. We see them. We value them. The joint efforts of brilliant, compassionate people are improving conditions for our unhoused neighbors today. Right now.

Join the mission.

Not because MSA is the golden solution to all our problems.

But because doing nothing is no longer the answer.

Because looking away is no longer an option.

MSA is making an impact.

Join Us.

In service,

Kris
